You can’t always win on LinkedIn either. But scoring only happens when you try.
The algorithm changes. It gets stricter. We’re being knocked out in large numbers, just like the Netherlands yesterday.
Still, many people think the algorithm is some angry man who deliberately pushes your post down just to annoy you.
That’s not true.
The algorithm is simply getting better at measuring what people really think of your content.
How long do they keep reading? How many people click “see more”? Do they read your post until the end? Do they continue to your profile?
And no, it’s not about likes, saves or even comments, like all the “gurus” say.
It’s about behavior. Attention. Dwell time.
That also means you sometimes have to be honest.
Your post just isn’t good enough yet. Or maybe it’s simply bad. And then you don’t score and you don’t win. Just like on the pitch.
That’s exactly what Ronald and I will be talking about on De Boardroom’s Substack.
