Objective

The goal of the LinkedIn and personal branding workshop at was to help consultants strengthen their visibility, networking skills, and relationship-building approach in a way that aligns with Brunel’s client-centric culture.

The focus was on:

  • Building stronger relationships with clients and candidates
  • Using LinkedIn in a personal and authentic way
  • Increasing visibility without becoming overly promotional
  • Creating content that strengthens trust and credibility
  • Developing profiles that attract both clients and candidates

In addition, the workshop aimed to show how small, personal interactions can lead to meaningful professional conversations and long-term business relationships.

Approach

Together with Marylène, Wouter, and the Finance and Engineering teams, the sessions focused on practical applications of LinkedIn, networking, and content creation.

A central theme throughout the workshop was Client Centricity.

Rather than focusing on mass outreach or automated messaging, participants explored how to build genuine relationships through personalized communication.

One of the concepts discussed was the “seasonal message” approach: using relevant, everyday moments as a natural reason to reconnect with someone.

For example:

“What a beautiful sunny day today. A perfect moment to connect and exchange experiences. Would you be open to scheduling a conversation?”

Simple. Personal. Effective.

The workshop also covered:

  • How to create a LinkedIn profile that attracts clients and candidates
  • Building trust through consistent visibility
  • Creating authentic content instead of polished corporate messaging
  • Sharing knowledge and expertise to strengthen personal brands
  • Using videos, photos, business updates, and insights as content sources

The emphasis was on authenticity, accessibility, and creating conversations rather than pushing sales messages.

Results

The impact of the workshop was immediately visible:

  • Increased awareness of relationship-driven networking
  • New insights into personal branding and LinkedIn positioning
  • Practical content ideas that participants could apply immediately
  • Greater confidence in creating authentic posts and videos
  • Strong engagement and enthusiasm across the Finance and Engineering teams

Participants left with a clear understanding of how to stay visible, relevant, and approachable while strengthening relationships with both clients and candidates.

What resonated most was the realization that successful networking is often built on simple, human moments rather than complex sales tactics.
