What Father’s Day taught me about B2B sales 😝
Today is Father’s Day and honestly, I had completely forgotten.
But my wife and kids hadn’t.
And what a surprise that was.
Breakfast was ready. Little gifts made at school. It just shows again: the biggest surprises are often found in the smallest, most unexpected things.
And it’s the same with B2B sales.
In the end, it’s all about building relationships.
You shouldn’t only give a prospect attention when you think a sale is close. You need to keep working on the relationship and keep giving attention.
Sometimes you simply give something away. A whitepaper, a piece of knowledge, a masterclass, just a quick message. Breakfast in bed 🤣
Without immediately expecting something in return.
That’s how you build an authentic relationship, instead of only hunting for a short-term sale.
Because maintaining a long-term relationship, just like with your partner, your father, mother or children, takes time and effort.
It’s in the small things.
And then suddenly you wake up in the morning, the whole table is set for you and everything falls into place.
In sales, that’s when the deals fall into place 😉
What a beautiful moment that is.
Enjoy Father’s Day everyone!
Who got breakfast in bed?
