The scariest part of jumping out of a plane happens before you jump.
In your head.
Your brain starts creating scenarios, asking questions and finding reasons why this might be a terrible idea.
The higher the plane climbs, the louder those thoughts become.
And then the door opens.
At that point, there’s no room for overthinking.
You trust the people around you, trust the preparation and let go.
That moment taught me something I’ve experienced many times in entrepreneurship too:
Fear is often much bigger before the action than during it.
We spend so much time worrying about what could happen.
What if I fail?
What if it goes wrong?
What if I’m not ready?
But once you actually move, something changes.
Fear becomes focus.
Tension becomes energy.
And suddenly, you’re completely present.
During the freefall, I wasn’t thinking about work, tomorrow, targets or problems.
I was just there.
Looking at the earth beneath me and realizing how insanely beautiful life actually is.
Maybe we don’t need to get rid of fear.
Maybe we just need to stop letting everything happening in our heads decide what we do.
Sometimes you just have to trust, let go and jump.
A huge thank you to Wim de Gier, Erwin van den Braak, Arjan Musch, Demie Landsman, the cameraman, Skydive Teuge and everyone else who made this experience so special.
What an incredible day.
