From 4 hires to 1 leader replacing it all 💙

Why the right person beats hiring more people

“Growth doesn’t come from more people, but from the right people.”

How we, as two entrepreneurs, found one person to replace 120% of our work.

Holy moly. I never expected this.

Two years ago, we seriously started thinking about delegation. Not because we wanted to stop. Not because we wanted to relax. But because a business simply cannot grow if everything depends on you.

We honestly thought we would need 3 or 4 people for this.

Maarten has been handling everything on the inside of the business for 7 years. Operations, team, finance, clients. Everything.

I handle everything on the outside. Sales, marketing, innovation. Playing outside, basically. Maarten inside, me outside.

But to be honest, I was still too involved in strategy and secretly also in operations.

So we got to work.

What I never expected is how Thor would develop.

He joined as an intern. Within 6 months, he became a core part of operations. Two years later, he suddenly led the entire team.

And not just operations. No. All teams. Operations, sales, marketing and finance.

Something neither Maarten nor I could carry individually.

Thor now takes over 120% of our work on his own. So we don’t need 3 extra people. Not 4. Just half a person!

I am incredibly proud of Maarten and Thor. The way they create structure. Build processes. Set protocols. Implement systems. Lead the team. Motivate people. Keep clients happy.

It’s unreal.

And me? I’m honestly a bit of a loose cannon. But that’s also a strategic role. At least, that’s what I tell myself.

Maarten and Thor have a plan for everything. And I always say: sometimes plans don’t work. And that’s when I step in to fix things on the spot.

MEGA fun.
MEGA effective.

I’m truly grateful to work with these people. And with our entire team, of course.

Thanks legends. You’re my life 💙
