How workshops at Tio Business School showed students that personal branding starts while you're still in school
“If your LinkedIn profile isn’t up to par, you’re already down 10-0 before you even start.”
The goal of speaking at the Career Expo of Tio Business School was to show students how important personal branding already is at an early stage of their career, and how LinkedIn plays a central role in this.
The focus was on:
In addition, the goal was to make students truly feel that a professional profile and online visibility are not something for “later”, but something to start building today.
The workshops revolved around one central message: start building your personal brand now.
A key insight was that hiring managers and recruiters immediately check your LinkedIn profile when you apply for an internship or first job. And if that profile is not professional and clear, you are already at a disadvantage before the conversation even begins.
From that reality, the sessions focused on practical, hands-on application:
The sessions were fully hands-on, with plenty of space for interaction, questions, and immediate application. Students were actively challenged not just to listen, but to experiment and start building their own online presence straight away.
The impact was immediately visible and tangible during the sessions:
What stood out most was the realization that visibility is not something to postpone. The tools are already there. So are the opportunities. The difference is made by who starts today.
