Trying to stay ahead of the algorithm these days… 😅
People talk about the LinkedIn algorithm as if it’s some evil monster trying to bully us. Every time something changes, everyone starts complaining about declining reach, fewer impressions and how LinkedIn is making our lives more difficult.
But I have a completely different perspective.
I believe the algorithm is actually getting BETTER.
LinkedIn is becoming smarter at measuring real engagement, understanding what people genuinely find interesting and recognizing which content deserves attention.
And that’s a good thing!
The problem is that many creators are so focused on beating the algorithm that they forget about the people they’re actually creating content for.
You don’t need to outsmart the algorithm. You need to become a better content creator.
And that comes down to four things:
- The topic. Are you talking about something your audience actually cares about?
- The hook. Are you giving people a reason to stop scrolling?
- The story. Can you keep their attention and deliver something valuable?
- The visual or video. Does it strengthen your message and make people want to watch?
That’s it. No magic tricks, no secret hacks, no endless complaining about the latest update.
I see this every day. Content that genuinely connects with people can still reach enormous audiences. And content that doesn’t connect will struggle, regardless of how well you think you understand the algorithm.
The algorithm isn’t your enemy. It’s trying to understand your audience better.
And so should you.
Stop trying to beat the algorithm. Start trying to deserve the attention.
That’s how you stay ahead.
