Before you can truly enjoy something, you often have to work hard for it first.
That’s how a lot of things work in life, and especially in business.
We’ve now spent five days hiking and the trip is almost over. We walked more than 80 kilometers and completed the entire trail around Ruka.
The first night was freezing.
The second night, it rained.
We slept in tents and open wooden cabins, sat on wooden blocks and spent most of our days outside.
Outdoor Passion and Wild Out took incredible care of us, but that didn’t make the hiking any easier.
There was pain.
Blisters.
Sore muscles.
Painful ankles.
Cold moments, hot moments and complete exhaustion.
And then Olivier and Jeff surprised us.
With a traditional Finnish sauna.
Wow.
Not just a sauna, but the full experience: herbs, a honey scrub, stories, meditation and, of course, an ice bath in this beautiful lake.
After five days of pushing ourselves, it felt even better.
And maybe that’s exactly the lesson.
The reward feels different when you’ve worked for it first.
Business works the same way.
Growth, success and freedom are great, but they usually come after the uncomfortable part.
The long days.
The setbacks.
The sore muscles, metaphorically speaking.
Work hard first.
Enjoy it even more afterwards.
Thank you, Outspire, Olivier, Jeff, Outdoor Passion and Wild Out, for another unforgettable experience. ❤️
