This is how you write the perfect story.
Imagine this:
How do you explain your day to somebody at home when you arrive from an event?
Exactly.
A good post has 3 elements.
It sounds like an open door, but you need to review your post this way. Always.
And it works.
And it surprises you.
First: the hook.
Your first sentence needs to grab attention.
Skip titles. Skip lame intros.
Pull people straight into your story.
Catch them on the hook. You only have a split second. Take it.
Second: the visual or the video.
Skip intros. Skip slow starts.
Even better: take the climax and put it first.
Start with the climax, then go into the story.
Again: you only have a split second.
We’re talking short-form content.
Everything needs to be fast.
Your post needs to stand out in one split second.
If not? You lose.
Your post drops to the bottom of the algorithm and disappears from people’s timelines.
Last but not least: the story.
There’s no magic formula, but there is a structure that works.
☆ Tell the story the way you explain your day at home:
☆ Start with the most important thing
☆ Lead with the climax or your statement
☆ Then go back to the logical beginning
☆ Continue step by step
☆ Give examples, give context
☆ And finally:
What did it teach you?
What are the next steps?
End with a closing question.
That’s engagement.
“So… how was your day?”
It’s logical.
And it’s very hard.
But follow these steps and you’ll succeed every time.
Well… almost every time 😄
One last secret ingredient:
What do people find interesting right now?
What’s happening in the market?
What’s on people’s minds?
What’s relevant?
What’s happening now?
A story that’s off-topic won’t get engagement.
Even if it’s a good story.
That’s why some of the smartest specialists, writing brilliant, super-detailed blog posts, often fail to get engagement.
It’s too deep. Too far away from day-to-day challenges.
Make it simple.
Make it relevant.
Talk Mickey Mouse.
So…
How was your day?
