Sports, Alcohol and Entrepreneurship: Not Exactly a Winning Combination 😂🍺

Running a business takes focus, energy and discipline. What happens when you give your body and mind the best possible conditions to perform?

It’s not about performing once. It’s about showing up every single day.

Sports and alcohol are clearly not a match. And here’s the proof! 😂🍺⚽

A football flies into the crowd and suddenly, beers are flying through the air. I couldn’t think of a better metaphor!

And honestly, I think the same applies to entrepreneurship.

When you’re running a business, you need to stay sharp. You need energy, focus, discipline and the ability to make the right decisions, even when things get tough.

And alcohol doesn’t exactly help with any of that.

I stopped drinking alcohol six years ago, and it’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not because I had a drinking problem, but because I wanted to get the most out of my body, my mind and my life.

And now, while training for the Amsterdam Marathon, I’m noticing even more just how much of a difference a healthy lifestyle makes.

Of course, you can enjoy a beer and still be a successful entrepreneur. I’m not saying otherwise. But imagine what happens when you consistently give your body the best possible conditions to perform.

Because entrepreneurship is a lot like sports. It’s not about performing once. It’s about showing up every single day, staying consistent and playing the long game.

And sometimes, all it takes is one football to remind us of that. 😉

Cheers! With a glass of water, of course. 💦

What about you? Do you think alcohol affects your performance as an entrepreneur?
