This was the most beautiful swim I’ve ever had: a natural pool on top of a mountain in the Scottish Highlands.
I’m here with old university friends and fellow entrepreneurs. We’re hiking, challenging each other and having a lot of laughs along the way. And when I come across an opportunity like this, I find it pretty difficult to just walk past.
The water was freezing cold and, to be honest, the pool looked a little like a swamp.
Looking into it, my imagination immediately started working.
How deep was the middle? What was underneath? Had the Loch Ness Monster decided to take a holiday in the mountains? 😂
But I jumped.
Everything was fine.
And it felt amazing.
Cold water, fresh air, mountains all around me and my friends watching and laughing.
What a moment.
It reminded me of how we sometimes look at opportunities in business.
Before we’ve even tried, we’ve already imagined everything that could go wrong.
Meanwhile, someone else takes the first step and discovers that the challenge is actually much more manageable than it looked.
Of course, you still need to use your judgment. But not every doubt needs to become a reason to wait.
Sometimes being willing to move first gives you the chance to learn faster, get ahead of the market and build something while others are still thinking about it.
Thanks, guys, for the support and for filming this.
Although I suspect you were secretly hoping for a slightly more dramatic ending. 😂
And definitely check out the view at the end of the video.
Has anyone ever had a swim like this?
