1.5 weeks ago, I had surgery. Of course I took some rest, I had to. Maybe even one or two days extra. But after that? Back to training. Full focus.
What you do today, you will only see three months later.
And no, that’s not unhealthy. That’s necessary.
Because let’s be honest: it’s very easy to justify to yourself that you need rest. But standing still is often much worse.
This is exactly how it works in sales.
Everything you do on LinkedIn today, you will only see months later.
- Did you just land a few great new clients?
Then I can almost guarantee you there will be a dip in 2 to 3 months. Why? Because you’re celebrating your success for too long. - Are you currently in a dip?
Then there will definitely be no new client if you don’t take action.
The moment you’re in a dip, or see one coming, is exactly when you need to push harder.
Our data shows:
- First deals often only come after 3 to 6 months
- 80% of new business comes from conversations that last longer than 6 months
In other words: you need to plant the seeds now.
So whether things are going great or not:
take action.
Rest is allowed.
But not for too long.
Start again tomorrow. Or even today.
No unnecessary slowing down.
And I’ll be running a marathon soon for the Autism Foundation 🧠💙
