Entrepreneurship is just like taming a crocodile š
Back when I was 8 years old, I always wanted a crocodile.
I never got one⦠until one time when I was sick. Thatās when I got the biggest one! About 40 centimeters long. I could almost use it as a walking stick.
Fast forward to now.
Recently, I took my kids to Almere Jungle. Theyāve never had so much fun. Even more fun than Barbie šø Highly recommended!
They also sell beautiful artwork there (like this birdhouse) made by people in the day program at the Creations LAB. So beautiful!
And Ayla asked if she could take the crocodile home.
Sure, I said š
Weāll just make it happen.
For me, entrepreneurship is exactly that.
Making dreams come true.
Going after your goals.
Getting what you want.
Making the impossible possible.
Over the past two years, Iāve been focusing more and more on my bucket list.
But not that āadultā bucket list.
No.
Iām reliving my childhood dreams.
What I wasnāt allowed to do or couldnāt do back then⦠Iām doing now.
From now on, this crocodile is my symbol.
Iām going to tame the crocodile.
And honestly? It stands for so much more:
š Entrepreneurship is making your childhood dreams come true
š Entrepreneurship is making risky decisions
š Entrepreneurship is overcoming pain
š Entrepreneurship is taking on the battle that seems almost impossible to win
And thatās exactly where I am right now with my business.
In the phase where Iām guiding my team as best I can, so I can focus on what gives me energy.
And yeah⦠maybe itās a tiny bit of a midlife crisis too š
So I decided to get a crocodile. Letās see how that goes.
I can tell you:
weāre super happy with it. And so are the kids! Especially the oldest one āŗļø
Who else has a crazy hobby or collecting obsession that just really gives you that youthful energy?
Iām curious! š
