It’s not always perfect and that’s exactly the strength 💪

About entrepreneurship, health and pushing through when things get tough

“It’s not about stopping, it’s about balancing.”

In good times and in bad. That’s how we got married. So I don’t just share the good news, but also the less good news with my network.

I had to go under the knife again. “You work too hard,” people say. Maybe. But this is now the third surgery for a cyst in my skin that keeps coming back. Stress? Could be. Maybe just bad luck.

What I heard: people still die from infections nowadays. Pretty bizarre when you think about it. A “simple” bacteria turns out to be anything but simple. They constantly adapt, it’s literally a race against nature. Fascinating and confronting at the same time. Anyway: I hope this was the last time.

And yes… as an entrepreneur I’m always racing anyway. But it does get complicated when your own body doesn’t cooperate.

Let’s be honest: I often share the successes here, but the past few months have just been messy:

  • 4 months of a tennis elbow → couldn’t box
  • Fall while skiing → strained shoulder → couldn’t box again
  • Training for the marathon → recurring back pain
  • And then also that infection

Doing great 😉

Not to complain, but to be honest. Because I’m sure many people recognize this. As an entrepreneur you often go all in. But sometimes things just don’t go your way.

Then it’s not about stopping, but about balancing. Listening to your body. And that’s difficult, because you don’t want to complain, you don’t want to become lazy. You want to go all in. But you also have to take care of yourself.

On LinkedIn it’s actually exactly the same:
You don’t always hit a six.
Sometimes you have a viral post, sometimes you don’t.
Sometimes clients come in easily, sometimes it’s quiet for weeks.

That’s life. Just keep going and keep optimizing.

And lastly: my amazing neighbor and best friend. 78 years old. He brought me to the hospital, waited 3 hours and took me in his arms to bring me back home.

Heartwarming. Thank you ❤️
