I’m running the entire marathon for my son with autism.
Let’s be honest, there are plenty of times when I don’t feel like training. Just like you don’t feel like following up on your leads.
“I don’t feel like it right now… I can do it tomorrow.”
Sound familiar?
This is exactly where things often go wrong. Because tomorrow you’ll have new tasks. And the day after that, all over again. Before you know it, everything piles up and you’re constantly playing catch-up.
What many people underestimate: delaying follow-ups costs you immediate results. Leads you don’t call today will be colder tomorrow. And next week, they might be gone entirely.
The difference is almost never in talent or strategy, but in consistency. Just doing today what should have been done yesterday.
Because turn it around: if you do follow up on those 10 to-dos today, one customer will say yes today. Another one tomorrow. And the day after that, again.
Not spectacular. But effective.
Because there’s a higher goal that motivates me to train. What’s your higher goal? Revenue? Commission? A promotion? Pride? It doesn’t matter, but keep it in mind!
Just like working out: I’m heading outside right now, even though I don’t feel like it. Not because I’m motivated, but because I know that the results come from showing up consistently.
What do you put off most often, even though you know it will give you immediate results?
Do you want to contribute to something that’s truly important to me?
