What family businesses teach us about legacy and entrepreneurship

Last week I visited Amber and Liselotte at Landgoed de Olmenhorst.

Wow. What a beautiful place.

FCN organized the annual Family Talks here, this time at this special location of a remarkable family business. During this event, various family businesses came together to meet and share knowledge.

How do you deal with different generations?
How do you arrange succession?
What do you define in family structures, statutes and wills?
And how do you handle finances, distribution and investments?

Working with family is beautiful, but also complex. Maybe that’s exactly why it’s so special. A gift in life.

You can see that in the story of these sisters. After the sudden passing of their father, the visionary behind Olmenhorst, Amber Elisa took over the business. Later, Liselotte joined at the right moment. A powerful and inspiring story.

The estate itself breathes everything: history, diversity, emotion, nature, quality and atmosphere.

I also work with family in our business: my brother, my mother and our partners. But a business that has existed for generations… that’s a different level. That’s legacy.
