Building an IKEA closet without the manual.
Thatās basically how Iāve approached entrepreneurship my entire life.
You open the box, look at all the pieces and think:
Iāll figure this out somehow.
Of course, you make mistakes.
You put something in backwards.
Use the wrong screw.
And sometimes you have to take half of it apart again.
But eventually, the closet is standing.
And the second time is easier.
Not because someone suddenly gave you the manual, but because you understand the pieces better and know what went wrong the first time.
Thatās exactly how I learn as an entrepreneur.
Iām probably what you would call uncoachable.
Not because I donāt want to learn from others. Quite the opposite.
I love listening.
I love exchanging ideas.
And I love learning from other peopleās experiences.
But in the end, I need to experience things myself.
I need to build the closet.
And maybe thatās also a little bit of what this journey to Finland is about.
Iām here hiking with an amazing group of entrepreneurs and Outspire – Creativity Hikes.
And Iām going to embrace this experience with both arms.
Iāll listen.
Iāll observe.
Iāll learn.
But ultimately, Iāll still walk my own path.
Because nobody can really give you the manual for entrepreneurship.
Or for life.
And thatās also what the Airplane Podcast is about:
Entrepreneurship.
Life.
Ambition.
Making mistakes.
Happiness.
And, most importantly, figuring things out along the way.
This IKEA closet is just the beginning. š
