No beard yet.
Still smoking on the balcony.
But already making videos and thinking about camera angles.
What stands out most when I watch this video back?
Back then, vertical video wasn’t the standard. Everything was horizontal.
In this video, I’m sitting at home with my best friend discussing the fact that you could “nowadays” record videos with your phone. And especially: the challenges that came with it.
We seriously doubted whether you could adjust the camera angle afterwards on a computer.
Crazy when you think about how fast technology has evolved.
A few weeks ago, I posted that I started filming in 2000.
This clip is from 2013. Even then, we were already actively creating content.
But the world looked completely different.
👉 Editing was done on a computer
👉 Vertical video basically didn’t exist
👉 Videos weren’t made for social media but for TV
👉 Posting wasn’t even a thing yet
In fact: I opened my Instagram account in 2013.
No videos. Only photos. Makes sense, Instagram started as a photo editing app.
And now?
Everything is edited on your phone.
Vertical video is the standard.
Content is no longer a side activity but a strategy.
And social media is often the first channel, not the last.
Personally, some things changed as well 😉
No beard back then.
Still smoking.
Now I don’t smoke anymore.
I don’t drink alcohol anymore.
No sugar.
Focus on family, health and entrepreneurship.
What stayed the same?
Creating content daily.
And the friendship.
It’s special to see how something that used to be “experimenting” is now my work and passion.
