Behind every professional, there is a person. A person with a life, also outside of work.
That’s what I love about entrepreneurial sessions. With Olivier & Jeff, Frans, Biondi or Merlin, you always hear that everyone carries unique stories with them. And that also impacts the business. So it’s relevant!
And you know what’s even better? Those personal stories actually perform better. People recognize themselves in them. You create connection and that’s how you quickly build relationships and trust.
And of course: more views!
7 years ago, I started my business. Back then, I NEVER showed my tattoos. I didn’t want people to judge me for them and reject me. And yes, that really happens.
1.5 years ago, I had my coming out. In Diederik’s podcast, about my midlife crisis. The perfect moment to show that I have tattoos.
I’m not going to change the world, but I would love it if we could be more ourselves in business and if prejudices became less important.
So the only thing we can do is: be more ourselves. If more people do that, it will eventually become normal.
