This might be the darkest and most real Black Mirror episode of our actual lives.
We created AI to do our jobs.
Now jobs are disappearing.
But AI needs energy.
So imagine this: massive gyms where humans work out all day, not for health, not for joy, but to generate power for AI engines.
We replaced ourselves.
Then we became the battery.
We turned into servants of the system that replaced us.
Crazy thought?
Or just a realistic projection of where we’re heading?
And don’t get me wrong, I earn my money with AI too. I use it. I build with it. I believe in its power.
But sometimes I wonder…
Are we pushing it too far?
Are we treating AI like our new heaven, as if everything must clear the path for it?
More data.
More compute.
More energy.
More scale.
But what about energy consumption?
What about nature?
What about the human experience?
Do we really need all of this?
Or are we just running because we can?
What actually makes us human?
Do we still remember?
Not every innovation makes life better in the long term.
Some just make it faster. Louder. More efficient.
But not necessarily more meaningful.
This short movie we’re collectively producing, it’s a mirror.
And it’s black.
