750 faces, one city

A tribute to Amsterdam: how a LinkedIn connection led to a beautiful book that captures the city's diversity and strength.

"Rarely does a project move me so much."

750 faces. 750 stories. One city.

Rarely does a project move me so much.

A few years ago, I started a conversation with Michel Bouquet. Via LinkedIn, of course. A spontaneous golf appointment followed. What I didn’t know then: this would be the beginning of something much bigger.

By the way, I was already posting back then: networking via LinkedIn is so much more than spamming and doing business. It creates relationships. And there you have it…

Michel told me about his dream: to capture 750 Amsterdammers on film, each with their own story. A tribute to the city, its diversity, and its strength. That idea became a reality. And now, years later, the book is here: ‘750 people, one city’.

📸 I got to be a part of it.

🤝 I got to contribute to this project.

❤️ And I got to work with Michel, Stefanie Swinkels, and Alphons Nieuwenhuis, all people with inexhaustible dedication, love for the city, and an eye for detail. I’m Possible Amsterdam!

The result? More than 600 pages of pure dedication. A work of art of connection. And a lasting document of who we are as Amsterdammers.

What an honor to be in such company. What a city. What people.

And together with my brother Maarten Verstraten. The city where we started our baby YouLynq.me when Maarten wanted to sleep on my couch for a while (1.5 years) 🤩

Michel, this is craftsmanship with a capital C!

Show me the magic in real life 🪄
