4 hours by boat. Straight through the Amazon. And now we have arrived. In the middle of the jungle.
What an unbelievable place.
For the next 6 days, we’ll be staying on Biondi’s land: the Keyboxing training ground, The Sovereign Wild.
At the bottom, I’ll share a photo of our location.
We are in the area of the Saramaccan people. Dutch is hardly spoken here, unlike what you’re used to in Paramaribo. You really step into a completely different world.
Here, life happens by the river. Men, women and children come together there to shower, wash clothes and prepare food.
We were lucky, because the water level was high. Otherwise, the journey is a lot more difficult. Four hours of boating, zigzagging between the rocks.
The sound of the flowing water. The impressive jungle. Small villages along the riverbanks. It feels like you’re sailing straight into a documentary.
Once we arrived, we immediately had to set up our tents. That turned out to be the first challenge of many that will follow over the coming days.
We are here with six entrepreneurs. It is indescribable what an experience like this does to you.
Last night, I walked through the jungle with Biondi for over an hour to get food. In complete darkness. Through two villages. Through the water. In flip-flops.
And yes… snakes, wild boars and even jaguars live here.
Luckily, we didn’t see them.
But just imagine walking there… Make sure to watch the end of the video.
This morning, we start with boxing. In the middle of the jungle.
This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Together with a local guide, among a tribe in the Amazon. It is almost impossible to put into words.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
I’m really looking forward to the coming days 🌿
