39 degrees, traffic jams everywhere… and yet Het Spaansche Hof was full of entrepreneurs.
That is exactly why networking never stands still ☀️
While all of the Netherlands was looking for a way to cool down, entrepreneurs from across the country came to The Hague for the FCN Summer Drinks.
Because whether it’s raining or 39 degrees: real connection is not stopped by the weather.
Together with REBORN, FCN organized this summer gathering at a beautiful historic location: Het Spaansche Hof in The Hague.
Besides great conversations, we also heard a remarkable story from Saman.
According to the oldest ghost legend in the Netherlands, knight Gerrit van Assendelft locked his pregnant housekeeper Catharina in the cellar of Het Spaansche Hof in 1469.
He hoped to get rid of his problem so he could enter into a more strategically beneficial marriage.
Catharina died there.
And according to the legend, her spirit still wanders through the building.
And no… I don’t know if I believe in ghosts.
But I really did hear knocking in the bathroom 👀😅
It got me thinking.
In organizations, we sometimes try to hide problems too.
A conflict we avoid.
A process that hasn’t worked for years.
Feedback we would rather ignore.
But problems don’t disappear just because you hide them.
Quite the opposite.
Sooner or later, they always resurface.
Real transformation doesn’t start with hiding.
It starts with opening the door.
Which “ghosts from the past” are still haunting your organization today?
