During the free fall, I looked around and suddenly saw the horizon stretching endlessly in front of me, the earth far below, the skyline in the distance and this incredible light across everything.
That was the moment that completely stopped me.
Not the exit.
Not the speed.
Not even the adrenaline.
The view.
Look at the last shot.
It almost doesn’t look real.
For around 1.5 minutes, you’re falling through the sky, but somehow it feels like everything else has stopped.
Business.
Targets.
Meetings.
Problems.
Deadlines.
Gone.
It’s just you, the earth and this strange realization of how enormous the world is, and at the same time, how lucky we are to experience it.
That’s why I believe so strongly in stepping outside your comfort zone.
Not just because it makes you stronger, but because it gives you perspective. It creates stories. It creates memories. And if you’re lucky, you get to share those moments with amazing people.
A huge thank you again to Wim de Gier for bringing me into this world.
And thank you Erwin van den Braak, Arjan Musch, Demie Landsman, our cameraman and everyone else at Skydive Teuge who made this experience so special.
The atmosphere, the support, the fist bumps, the laughs and the energy around this community are something I’ll remember forever.
Entrepreneurship is often about moving forward.
But sometimes the best thing you can do is simply look around.
At the horizon.
At the people next to you.
At the life you’re actually living.
And think:
Wow.
This is it.
