AI is the new cor*ona. The new war.
We’re becoming divided.
Two camps. For and against. No room for nuance anymore.
All AI is AI slop.
And if you speak up about it, or actually use AI, you get called a Claudeviool.
Luckily, there is an upside.
Times of division can also create connection and even a little more love. Sometimes, people on completely opposite sides can still find each other in nuance and disagreement.
And quite often, humor is what brings them together.
Under my AI post, I’m getting absolutely destroyed.
The comments are brutal.
The keyboard warriors and Facebook-style users are popping up everywhere.
Luckily, I also have a few people on my side. And there are plenty of hilarious supporters, opponents and people somewhere comfortably in the middle.

Times of division also tend to make you stop and think about life.
What actually matters?
And what happens when I’m no longer here?
Am I afraid of death?
These are the kinds of things I talk about with my brother Maarten almost every evening.
During the day, we talk about work.
At night, we talk about the meaning of life.
Sometimes I think I’ve figured it out.
Maybe the meaning of life is realizing how small we are and being grateful enough to enjoy it.
Right here.
Right now.
We’re pretty good at reminding each other to find some balance in our busy lives as entrepreneurs.
Are we doing enough?
Are we doing too much?
Are we doing too little?
What else matters in life besides business and work?
Family. Freedom. Happiness.
And perhaps most importantly:
Connection.
That’s also what I love about this platform.
We’re all connected.
Even though I’ve apparently been disconnected by a few AI opponents.
I love you guys.
And we’ll keep running into each other.
Because the LinkedIn algorithm will always find a way to connect us again.
We’re all doing our best to build our businesses.
Whether we use AI or don’t use AI.
Whether you think that’s right or wrong.
We’re all building something.
We’re all trying to make things work.
And we can all help each other along the way.
