From UWV Programme to LinkedIn Masterclass

Years ago, a UWV programme gave me the space to figure out my next step. Last Friday, I had the chance to give something back.

How special is it to give something back years later?

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to give an online LinkedIn masterclass for the UWV.

60 people on the video call.

What a turnout. And even better: what an energy.

Maarten was my moderator and answered dozens of questions in the chat along the way.

It was great doing this together.

But this masterclass had a more personal meaning for me too.

When we started YouLynq.me, I had actually come out of a UWV programme myself.

During that period, I was given the space and support to explore what I wanted to do and eventually take the step into entrepreneurship.

I benefited enormously from that.

So how special is it to come back years later and give something back?

By sharing your knowledge and experience with people who might be standing at their own crossroads.

Of course, we spent plenty of time talking about LinkedIn during the masterclass.

Not just about applying for jobs through vacancies or the Easy Apply button, but about becoming visible yourself, expanding your network and building relationships with companies, recruiters, managers and other professionals.

Because LinkedIn is ultimately much more than a job board.

It’s a network.

And that network can create all kinds of new opportunities.

Maarten, thank you so much for moderating and answering all those questions in the chat.

And of course, a huge thank you to Manisha Ghisaidoobe and Jeanet M. for organising everything and for the trust.

It was really special to work with the UWV again after all these years. 🙏

Show me the magic in real life 🪄
