I just jumped out of a plane from 5,000 meters.
Around 1.5 minutes of freefall with Wim de Gier at Skydive Teuge.
Completely insane.
But what will stay with me most isn’t even the jump itself. It’s everything around it, and especially the people I shared it with.
From the moment we stepped onto the plane, there was this incredible sense of team spirit. People shaking hands, fist-bumping, hugging, laughing and encouraging each other.
Then the plane kept climbing.
The door opened. The wind rushed in. And suddenly you’re sitting on the edge of an airplane, looking down at the earth.
At some point, there’s only one thing left to do.
Jump.
And that reminded me so much of entrepreneurship.
You can prepare, plan, calculate and reduce risks as much as you want. But eventually, you have to step outside your comfort zone and go.
That’s where growth happens.
And I think that’s also where some of the best memories are made.
Not necessarily because you did something crazy, but because you experienced it with amazing people.
When the parachute opened and everything suddenly became quiet, I looked around and felt genuinely emotional.
What a beautiful earth.
What beautiful nature.
What an incredible life.
So challenge yourself. Do things that scare you. Say yes a little more often.
But most importantly, create memories with amazing people.
Because those are the moments you’ll still be talking about 10 years from now.
Thanks, Erwin van den Braak, Arjan Musch, Demie Landsman, the cameraman and everyone else who made this experience so special!!
