Sometimes listening is actually pretty useful.
I’ve always considered myself pretty uncoachable.
I’m the kind of person who puts together an IKEA cabinet without reading the instructions.
I’ve been like that my entire life.
I was terrible at reading books, terrible at paying attention and had very little patience for explanations.
But I was pretty good at figuring things out myself.
And honestly, that has taken me pretty far.
As an entrepreneur, it can actually be useful not to wait for someone to tell you exactly how something should be done.
But there’s a downside too:
Sometimes you’re just reinventing the wheel.
And that can cost you a lot of time.
Take my feet, for example.
I’ve been struggling with pain, blisters and all kinds of issues while running for about five years.
I was completely convinced it was just my feet.
Harold had told me about a hundred times that I should get different running shoes.
He sent me links.
Gave me advice.
Everything.
Obviously, I didn’t listen. 😅
Until I saw these shoes in the store.
Apparently, running shoes have improved quite a bit over the past few years.
I put them on and knew almost immediately:
This is amazing. Clouds.
So it wasn’t just my feet after all.
Sometimes you don’t have to figure everything out yourself.
Sometimes someone else already has the answer.
But of course…
I had to be stubborn and figure it out the hard way myself. 🤣
The good news?
My feet finally don’t hurt anymore.
Bring on the marathon. 🏃♂️
