Takeoff and landing get all the attention. But most of the journey happens in between.
A Boeing pilot is actually a lot like an entrepreneur.
Takeoff is exciting.
You accelerate, commit, leave the ground and suddenly, you’re on your way.
Starting a company feels exactly like that.
New ideas.
Energy.
Ambition.
Big plans.
Everything feels possible.
And then comes the part nobody really talks about.
The hours in between.
Because most of flying isn’t takeoff or landing.
It’s managing everything.
Monitoring the instruments.
Checking the route.
Adjusting to the weather.
Communicating.
Making small corrections.
And staying alert, even when everything seems to be going perfectly.
That’s entrepreneurship.
Most days aren’t about launching something massive or celebrating an exit.
They’re about managing people, cash flow, clients, sales, marketing, problems, opportunities and hundreds of small decisions that keep the business moving in the right direction.
And eventually, you land.
A deal closes.
A project goes live.
You hit your target.
You sell the company.
Or you simply reach the destination you’ve been working toward.
Takeoff and landing get the attention.
But everything in between determines whether you actually make it there.
Entrepreneurship is mostly about flying the plane.
And preferably keeping it in the air. 😏✈️
