Today we climbed Ananasberg.
A mountain in the middle of the Surinamese Amazon, named after the wild pineapples that grow here on the lava. It’s a place full of history, surrounded by untouched nature.
3 kilometers there. 3 kilometers back.
Around 600 meters up.
40 degrees.
Together with Biondi Pikientio during the Sovereign Wild Trip.
Sometimes entrepreneurship is simply walking 6 kilometers through the jungle.
And no, this is not a casual walk.
At the front, someone walks with a gun.
At the back, someone walks with a machete.
Along the way, you keep an eye out for jaguars, snakes and whatever else the jungle has in store for you.
You never move forward alone.
You constantly discuss. Which path do we take? Do we wait for each other? How do we solve this? Everyone has their own role. Everyone carries responsibility.
Along the way, Mike fell hard. His entire hand was covered in blood.
No first aid station.
No pharmacy.
The guide picked leaves from the jungle, added tobacco and created a natural ointment on the spot. Within a short time, the bleeding was under control and we could continue.
Everything turned out fine.
That is entrepreneurship.
You don’t always have the perfect resources. You work with what you have. You trust each other’s knowledge. You solve problems. And you keep going together.
What a beautiful day.
And how small you feel when you walk through the Amazon.
