Today, I’m out of action. Not because I’m on vacation, but because my body decided it was time for a break. Three days in bed, shivering, battling an infection that eventually required a minor surgery.
The downside of my daily routine? A fully booked schedule. With eight meetings a day, being out means everything needs to be rearranged. And when the following week is already packed, rescheduling becomes a real challenge. Every missed hour piles up.
Letting go of work? Difficult.
Even while waiting for my procedure, I’m typing this. My mind keeps running—thinking about work, appointments, and unfinished tasks. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned these past few days, it’s that being sick forces you to slow down. Not by choice, but because your body leaves you no other option.
The surprising part? Rest actually helps. Despite the frustration, I also felt a strange sense of relief. My body took control, forcing me to pause. And after the procedure? I instantly felt a difference—like the infection had drained not just my body, but my energy too.
Of course, now I’m way behind on admin. 😅 But hey, every setback has its upside, right?
How do you handle being sick while juggling work?
