Last week, I was interviewed by Baaz.nl and, naturally, the topic was LinkedIn 😃

LinkedIn is not a sales channel; it is a networking platform. How does that work, since we help people build their business through LinkedIn?

True, but building your business isn’t about spamming and sending sales messages or pushing your proposition through your posts. No, business growth comes from your relationship network. Everyone you ask will say that their business stems from their warm network. So, we need to build our warm network, and LinkedIn is a great tool for that.

It’s all about doing the right things, using the right tone of voice, sharing relevant knowledge, ensuring you stay top of mind, and keeping your relationships warm.

You can really get to know people through LinkedIn and approach new people, but it’s about doing that personally and authentically. If you’re genuinely interested in people and take the time to understand them, then people on LinkedIn are very open to getting to know you. And we even enjoy it! Because every professional wants to meet new interesting connections. Well, almost everyone 😉

So, stop spamming and use LinkedIn as if you were at a networking event: Show interest and get to know each other personally.
