The decline of authentic content on LinkedIn

“It’s not just about numbers, it’s about real connections.”

The Decline of Authentic Content on LinkedIn 🚨 Yes, I’ve written a new blog for MarketingTribune!

LinkedIn, once the platform for professional connections, seems to be losing its authentic character. The pursuit of engagement and visibility has led to posts that are no longer about sharing personal stories or real insights, but mainly about gaining likes and shares. And that’s a shame.

When I first started on LinkedIn, posts were mostly personal stories, experiences, and knowledge sharing. They sparked real conversations and created valuable connections. But today, the focus is often on quantity—how many people see my post, how many likes can I gather, how many comments will I get?

This is a trend we can’t ignore. The question is: what does this mean for the value of content on LinkedIn? When posts are only about numbers, can they still add real value?

I’m convinced the key is going back to authentic communication. Companies and professionals should focus on providing real value for their network. This isn’t just about growing your reach—it’s about creating connections that last longer than a simple like. It’s about sharing valuable information, telling stories that resonate with people, and building relationships that go beyond superficial numbers.

What do you think? Is the hunt for likes the death knell for authentic content on LinkedIn, or can we still find a balance between reach and real connections? 🤔 Read the article now!
