Objective

Morres Wonen Hulst B.V., led by CEO & Co-owner Walter van de Griendt, is the largest Dutch store in the furniture industry. Founded in Hulst in 1909 as a small furniture workshop, Morres has grown over 115 years to become the largest specialty store for Living & Sleeping. During a conversation with YouLynq.me founder Michiel, Walter realized that he wasn’t utilizing LinkedIn and thus missing out on business opportunities. Michiel pointed out that LinkedIn is highly suitable for building business relationships in the B2B space. Walter recognized the potential and wanted to leverage LinkedIn to expand his network with prospects and generate more collaborations for Morres Wonen in various markets.

Approach

Our collaboration began with a thorough onboarding process where we gained insights into Morres Wonen’s objectives, tone of voice, and target audiences. Walter prefers to be hands-on and maintain his authenticity, so he opted for the starter package, where he is responsible for handling incoming LinkedIn messages. The key steps in our approach were:

  1. Prospect Identification: We created accurate prospect lists in consultation with Walter that fit Morres Wonen’s target audience, such as hotel furnishers, B&Bs, holiday parks, senior homes, etc.
  2. Content Creation: To increase brand awareness, we collaborated on creating interesting and relevant content for Walter’s LinkedIn community. By posting weekly articles, Walter consistently worked on his name recognition and top-of-mind status.
  3. Follow-up Chats: Walter was advised on effectively following up with leads and maintaining conversations with potential clients. Initially, he struggled with following up on responses, but with Michiel’s advice to be consistent and disciplined, he saw significant improvement.

Results

Since the beginning of the collaboration with Morres Wonen, the results have been excellent:

  • 8000+ New Connections: Walter Van De Griendt’s LinkedIn network has grown to approximately 10,000 connections.
  • New Collaborations: Morres Wonen has established significant collaborations with a major purchasing group for hospitality businesses and has executed projects in the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Suriname.
  • Substantial Revenues: Morres Wonen has generated substantial revenues from the collaboration with Youlynq.me.
  • Recruitment Successes: In addition to B2B leads, Morres Wonen has also successfully recruited new employees via LinkedIn.
