It all went wrong during a video shoot…
And actually, that was exactly what we needed.
Because you know what the problem is with most LinkedIn videos? They feel forced. Artificial. As if someone is reciting a script.
But as soon as something goes wrong, you suddenly become yourself. You laugh. You react spontaneously. You’re human.
And that’s exactly what works.
So here’s how we make our videos (and why they don’t have to be perfect):
First: create a list of questions. But not just any questions. Questions that are inspired by what your market really wants to know. Not from your own proposition, but from their needs.
Then you have 3 options:
1️⃣ After reels as a mood impression With a song or voice-over. Very easy to automatically edit with CapCut. Perfect for that quick, visual impact.
2️⃣ Podcast settings like these From a real podcast or scripted. Feels familiar, as if people are listening in on a conversation. Less intimidating than talking directly into the camera.
3️⃣ Selfie videos at events or with tips Simple and personal. No fancy setup needed. Just you and your experience.
The variety is best. For example, I post these videos a maximum of once every 2 weeks. More is too much, less is too little.
But here is the real secret…
The most important thing is that you know what your target audience finds interesting. What keeps them busy? What are they struggling with?
Try to remember what kind of questions you always get from your customers or prospects. Those moments when they say: “But how exactly do you do that?” Or: “What would you do in my situation?”
Those are the perfect topics to post about. Not what you think is interesting. But what they really want to know.
And if something goes wrong during the recording? Leave it in. It makes you human. And human sells better than perfect.
