Vague questions? Try being more specific!

Why being specific in your questions leads to better conversations

31 October 2025 -

“Asking specific questions often leads to specific and valuable answers.”

How often do you end a message with: “I’d love to hear your thoughts”?
It sounds friendly, open, professional… but isn’t it also a bit vague?

What exactly do you want to hear? A compliment? Criticism? Ideas?
If you truly want honest feedback, try being a bit more specific:

– “What speaks to you in this idea?”
– “Am I overlooking something?”
– “How would you approach this?”

By asking more targeted questions, you often get better answers.
