Why your LinkedIn messages aren’t working (and how to get it right)

02 September 2025 -

“The only thing that works is personal and authentic chatting.”

I know, you’re getting nothing out of LinkedIn! You send 100 messages every week, but it doesn’t lead anywhere. LinkedIn doesn’t work for your business, you think. And everyone is already getting so many messages, it just doesn’t work anymore.

Wrong! The solution is really simple, yet somehow still complex. Let me explain it again 👉

I’ll make it very simple this time. It comes down to two very important elements:

1️⃣ Your tone of voice. You’re trying to rush it too much. You always want to create a clever hook, mention a keyword, ask a provocative question, or go straight to the business. STOP! None of this works.

What actually works is chatting personally and authentically. Here’s an example of a quick but REALLY effective message:

“Great to connect! I think we can learn a lot from each other, how about a video call sometime?”

You can also build it up more slowly and not go straight to the call. I’ve got plenty of templates for that too.

2️⃣ Your administration. A good example: I sent 250 messages in the last few weeks. I got 25 responses. Then I followed up with the rest a week later with a short follow-up message. The result? A total of 75 responses!!

From those, I set up 27 appointments, with 4 hot leads!

It’s all about following up and keeping things warm. If people say they’ll contact you later, follow up. If people don’t reply, send another friendly message in two weeks. If people never respond, try again in six months.

This requires discipline and proper administration. Luckily, we’ve built a great system for this. As you probably know by now, right? 😜
