Start today.
That’s always the last thing I say during a masterclass.
Everyone overthinks it.
It has to be perfect.
Too well thought-out.
Too polished, too professional, too heavy on content.
With your very first post, you think everyone will judge you entirely on that one piece.
That it has to be flawless.
I get it.
It’s nerve-racking. Really nerve-racking.
But here’s the truth:
Your first post will be forgotten by tomorrow.
And that’s exactly the point.
A post disappears from the timeline in no time.
That’s why it doesn’t have to be perfect.
And that’s why you shouldn’t just create one.
The real power is in consistency.
People only really start forming an impression of you when they see you repeatedly over time.
Your first post might be 0.1% of the total. Or even less.
And your content will naturally improve.
You’ll get feedback.
You’ll sense what works.
Your second post will already be twice as good as your first.
But the only thing that truly matters? Keep going.
Of course, your content should eventually be strong, professional, and valuable.
Absolutely.
But to get there you have to start first. Tomorrow. No, today.
My advice:
Start with a news item.
Google your area of expertise or industry and see what’s been in the news this past week.
Write a short summary and post it on your timeline.
Not scary.
Not personal.
No one will blame you.
But it’s solid content and it immediately links you to your market.
That’s step one.
So if you’re reading this: take 10 minutes, write a post, and publish it right now.
Let me know in the comments if you did.
I’ll like your post and leave a reply 👨🏻💻
