Simple Steps to Use Podcast Snippets for LinkedIn Videos

02 September 2025 -

“A great post always has three key ingredients: a good hook, a good video or visual, and a good blog.”

This is how you can get started with video content on LinkedIn 👉🏼 Over the past few years, we’ve experimented with various video formats, and one of the best ways is using snippets from podcasts.

However, it’s really important to get a few basic things right. Here are my tips and tricks to help you get started.

A great post always has three key ingredients: a great hook, a good video or visual, and a solid blog.

1️⃣ Start with a strong hook/headline
The first few lines are crucial. Make sure you say something compelling and interesting so people will want to keep reading and watch the video.

2️⃣ Edit your videos smartly and keep them short
Avoid long or boring intros. Get straight to the point to immediately pull people into your story. Short, punchy videos work best!

3️⃣ Your video supports your blog
The snippet is just the highlight of your story. Use the text to go deeper into the topic. The video is a teaser; the blog adds the context.

How to Get Video Content?

It’s easier than you think! First, you can get invited to other people’s podcasts. If you’re lucky, the host might have a marketer who can create the snippets for you.

Or, like we do, sit down with a colleague in front of the camera and ask yourself all the relevant questions about your knowledge and experience.

Here are my tips for creating your own video content:

🎥 Plan your topics ahead of time
Think about the subjects you want to discuss. Reflect on your customer conversations and the common questions people ask you. These are the exact questions your colleague should ask you. Make sure they’re not related to your services, like “What do you do?” Focus on your expertise and the challenges your prospects face.

🎥 Grab your iPhone and a tripod
Use natural light by sitting across from a window. Avoid filming directly against the light.

🎥 Buy good microphones
You can find great microphones at Coolblue for around €300. Just be cautious, as there are plenty of bad options out there. This price range ensures you’re getting a solid product.

🎥 Start the conversation to get comfortable
Once you’re in the right vibe, have your colleague ask you the questions, and just answer naturally. It might help to pause the video after each segment to minimize the need for editing later.

🎥 Cut spontaneously during the story
This keeps the video natural, so you can dive straight into the content and keep it short and engaging.

🎥 Use CapCut for editing
Get a subscription for €10 per month on CapCut. It’s a must-have for editing your videos professionally.

And that’s it! Now, go ahead and post! Good luck and stay tuned!
