The most difficult profession in the world? Stand-up comedy. The second most difficult? Being an entrepreneur.
These words from Renze Klamer during the EY Entrepreneur of the Year kickoff hit exactly the right note.
Because he’s right.
Like comedians, entrepreneurs step onto the stage every day. Sometimes you get applause, sometimes deafening silence. Your timing has to be perfect, but even then, a joke (or pitch) can fall completely flat.
Yesterday, I was with Benjamin among 100+ entrepreneurs. Every single one of them a hero who puts their neck on the line every day. Who dares to fail, gets up, and carries on.
👉 Who leave their comfort zone
👉 Who dare to take risks
👉 Who give others work and opportunities
That deserves a standing ovation 🙌
Because entrepreneurship is a top-tier sport without a safety net. But just like with comedy: when it works, when you get that laugh (or deal)… then it’s all worth it.
