Wow! This really hit me… and no, this is not a weak ChatGPT intro.
During the ski trip I met Niels Houtepen. What an illusionist and we had an instant great connection!
When you think of illusions, you think of card tricks. He does those like a master. But illusions and spirituality are also very closely connected.
Technical tricks and real magic are intertwined. So much that you almost don’t know what’s real anymore.
Because honestly… I’m not as tough as I think I am.
In this video, Niels guesses the ball I chose and seems to get a vision or insight, telling me that I’m actually not as tough as I appear.
It’s about shadow, the color black, showing vulnerability and ultimately about whether I truly show my real self on social media.
And that really hit me. So deeply that I feel I have to do something with it. Not to reach 100K followers, but because I want to be authentic. I do want to show who I really am.
On this platform, we all perform a show. And that makes sense. You adapt. You don’t show up to a business lunch in swimwear. In the same way, I shape my posts to be professional and appropriate. And we all don’t want this to become a second Facebook. Right?
Or do we?
Because behind every entrepreneur is a person. A private life. Challenges. Feelings. Vulnerabilities.
And on a ski trip like this, that’s exactly what comes to the surface. We all face our own challenges, and many of them are the same.
That’s what makes it so powerful to hear from each other. That’s what creates connection.
I had deep conversations with multiple people, including Niels, about life, relationships, entrepreneurship as a human, children and insecurities. It felt amazing.
And especially with entrepreneurs who have been in the game for a while. After 5 to 10 years, your focus starts to shift.
In the first 5+ years, you are chasing.
Building your dreams.
There’s no stopping. It feels incredible.
After that, you enter a different phase.
Reality kicks in.
“Is this it? What am I doing it for?”
