YAY! 🥳 Together with Stichting Werken voor Elkaar and the City of Amsterdam, we gave a LinkedIn Masterclass at the Stichting Activiteitencentrum 55+ De Coenen for people aged 50+!
What energy and what a super fun, interactive group! Hidden in the middle of Oud-Zuid, between the apartments, you’ll find De Coenen, which is a beautiful location with a cozy hall and a lovely courtyard garden. The sun was shining right through the garden into the room. All in all, it was incredibly atmospheric!
Thank you for organizing this, Shiona Kamermans and team!!
Together, we learned that there’s so much more you can do with LinkedIn than just using the Easy Apply button on job postings. You can also proactively email recruiters and hiring managers with your CV and cover letter, and even call or message the company.
Additionally, you can be even more proactive by adding potential hiring managers to your network and start building relationships. For example, if you’re in finance, it helps tremendously to know multiple finance managers. LinkedIn job postings are overflowing with applicants, so it’s important to stand out. You can also get directly noticed by companies looking for top talents like you 😃
We also learned how important it is to optimize your profile and which settings you can use. Should you enable ‘Open to Work’ or not? Interesting questions! What do you think?
Finally, personal branding: How do you create a good post? We got straight to work on that!
Again, it all comes down to networking and building relationships. The more people know you, the more opportunities you create for yourself.
Thanks again, everyone! 👏 I’m curious, what does my network think? Should you enable ‘Open to Work’ on your profile when you’re job hunting?
